Case Study
Bus Tracking
About: Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) is a public school district located in Jefferson County, Kentucky operating 150 schools with more than 101,000 students, making it the 27th largest school district in the United States.
The Challenge: JCPS’s Bluegrass School District needed a way to track their bus fleet operations to confirm that they were on schedule and making designated stops on time. The District had received complaints that some buses had taken incorrect routes and/or were late for pick up times, but without verification and tracking, the Bluegrass School District had no way to verify.
The Solution: JCPS deployed Raveon’s RavTrack asset tracking solution, which allowed the District to track the buses’ stop arm sign and red and amber lights, as well as the time and location of each bus throughout the entire school district in real time.
