The RT-AN-1 GPS antenna can be used with Raveon's M7 series of GPS AVL transponders. It is a "magnet mout" antenna, used for temporary installations and quick demonstrations systems.
The RT-AN-1 GPS antenna has a built in 3V low-noise amplifier (LNA). The LNA in this antenna will boost the GPS satellite signal, a allowing the antenna to be connected with long sections of coax cable. It also increases the ability of the M7 to receive the GPS satellites. When used with the M7 in a AVL tracking system, GPS reception is improved in dense areas, even in urban canyons and sometimes indoors.
The M7 GPS transponder powers the RT-AN-GP1 through the coax cable. The center conductor of the coax cable passes power from the M7 to the GPS the antenna, as well as passing GPS satellite signals from the antenna to the M7.
